Dental Assistant/Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. Looking for Tuesday 7:45am-6pm, Thursday 7:45- 5pm and two Saturday's a month 7:45-1pm. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about promoting oral health through excellent clinical support and patient communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment
  • Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting as a dental receptionist when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable but willing to train
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures
  • Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and accurately
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures
  • Experience with medical documentation, medical coding, and managing medical records
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
