Dental Laboratory Support Technician

Entry Level dental technician:

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Making: Pour plaster into impressions to create accurate, functional models of a patient’s mouth.
  • Finishing & Polishing: Use hand tools, lathes, and polishing equipment to smooth surfaces.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and instruments following OSHA/CDC guidelines.
  • Quality Control: Ensure appliances meet specifications and fit accurately, checking for correct occlusion.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; certificate from a dental technology program is often preferred but not always required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to follow precise technical instructions.
  • Experience: Entry-level positions often welcome applicants with no prior dental experience, offering on-the-job training.
  • Physical: Ability to work with small tools, handle materials like wax/acrylic, and sit or stand for extended periods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year
