Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dental office, including scheduling, billing, and patient flow to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Coordinate treatment plans by explaining procedures, financial options, and insurance coverage clearly to patients
- Supervise office staff, including administrative support personnel, dental assistants, and hygienists, ensuring team cohesion and high performance
- Oversee financial management tasks such as budgeting, billing processes, and collection efforts using dental practice management software Curve
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and manage medical records with accuracy in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Handle human resources responsibilities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution
- Ensure adherence to healthcare standards such as JCAHO accreditation requirements and OSHA safety protocols while fostering a positive work environment
Skills
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare practice management with a strong understanding of medical administrative support functions
- Proficiency in dental software systems
- Expertise in fiscal management including budgeting, financial analysis, managed care negotiations, and revenue cycle management
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dental terminology, dental records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical administrative procedures
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate treatment plans effectively between patients and clinical staff
- Ability to handle complex scheduling, insurance processing, and billing workflows efficiently
- Previous experience as both dental receptionist and dental assistant is favorable!
