Dental Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
  • Schedule appointments using dental practice management software Dentrix Ascend, managing multiple-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks
  • Coordinate patient treatment plans and financial arrangements
  • Collect payments and process co-pays
  • Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation, updating medical histories, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with patient intake procedures, including data entry and verifying demographic information
  • Manage front desk operations such as filing, faxing, scanning, and organizing dental records efficiently
  • Support the clinical team by coordinating treatment plans and scheduling follow-up appointments

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental office is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CDT coding, and health information management systems
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software
  • Demonstrated ability to handle dental billing, insurance verification, and treatment planning
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with patients and team members.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
