Dental Receptionist

<Responsibilities>

  • Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake and scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and appointment confirmations
  • Prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist during procedures, and ensure all clinical supplies are stocked and sterilized according to infection control protocols
  • Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing medical records, updating patient information in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
  • Verify insurance benefits, process claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding including ICD-10/ICD-9, and handle billing inquiries efficiently
  • Maintain accurate documentation review for care plans, treatment notes, and medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a positive experience at every visit

<Requirements>

  • Proven clinic or dental office experience with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing procedures
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms
  • Experience with insurance verification, medical coding (CPT and ICD coding), and Medicare/Medicaid processes
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; proficiency in typing (10 key typing) and managing multi-line phone systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical administrative support tasks
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Prior front desk or medical receptionist experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management practices
  • Ability to handle high-volume patient interactions with professionalism and courtesy in a fast-paced environment
