Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for all visitors
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management- Softdent
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, handling inquiries and appointment requests efficiently
- Maintain accurate dental billing and collections
- Process dental billing and coding tasks
- Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up to optimize revenue cycle management
- Support front desk operations by managing filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and office organization tasks
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and documentation review procedures
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and coordinate patient intake processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist within a multi-specialty or dental clinic environment
- Strong knowledge of dental management software
- Familiarity with dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and dental billing practices
- Experience with insurance verification processes
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and clinic management software
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management
- Previous private dental office experience preferred; familiarity with HIPAA compliance essential
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude
