Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Support the Director–HR in planning and executing HR strategy aligned with university growth.
- Lead HR initiatives in Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Capability Building & Change Management.
- Assist in creating HR policies, SOPs, and frameworks for academic and non-academic staff.
- Provide data-driven insights for decision-making and workforce planning.
2. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for faculty, academic leaders, administrative, and technical staff.
- Collaborate with Schools/Departments to understand hiring needs and create recruitment plans.
- Develop university recruitment pipelines through job portals, LinkedIn, campus hiring, and industry networks.
- Ensure timely onboarding, induction, and documentation for all new hires.
3. HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee payroll inputs, attendance records, leave management, and employee documentation.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, university regulations, and statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc.).
- Maintain updated HRMS records and oversee digitization of HR processes.
- Monitor contracts, renewals, and compliance for outsourced staff/vendors.
4. Performance Management
- Implement and monitor performance appraisal cycles for faculty and staff.
- Coordinate goal-setting, mid-year reviews, annual appraisals, and performance improvement plans.
- Support leadership in developing reward & recognition frameworks.
5. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Address employee grievances with fairness, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and campus culture activities.
- Conduct periodic HR audits, feedback surveys, and engagement assessments.
- Maintain healthy relationships with staff, faculty, and student service departments.
6. Training & Development
- Identify training needs for academic and non-academic staff.
- Organize FDPs, leadership development programs, compliance trainings, and skill-building workshops.
- Maintain training calendars, attendance, and effectiveness assessments.
7. Policy, Process & Organizational Development
- Design, update, and implement HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and code of conduct.
- Support organizational restructuring, role clarity initiatives, and competency frameworks.
- Lead HR projects like digitization, automation, culture transformation, etc.
8. HR Reporting & Data Management
- Generate MIS reports for management: hiring, attrition, attendance, payroll inputs, etc.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting for statutory, accreditation, and audit requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in HR / MBA (HR) / PGDM (HR).
- 10+ years of HR experience depending on the level (Assistant/Associate/Deputy Director).
- Experience in higher education/university/large institutions preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR laws, HRMS, recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people-management skills.
