Deputy General Manager- Maintenance

Deputy General Manager for Maintenance to lead and manage all aspects of the Plant Maintenance department, ensuring efficient operations and continuous production. The Deputy General Manager- Maintenance will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance department's operations, including managing assets, budgets, and resources. They will be responsible for multiple shifts of supervisors and mechanics, ensuring timely maintenance, and achieving plant efficiency targets. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain high productivity and quality standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1, PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Job Context:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. Maintaining all the assets of the company in good condition. In addition this position is responsible for managing multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics.

  • To ensure continuous production-no plant stoppage due to any spares/consumables/lab items and trained manpower.

  • To produce qualitative product with higher productivity by reducing down time.

  • To ensure repair and maintenance cost not to exceed the budget.

  • To set and achieve plant mechanical efficiency targets and raw material yields.

3, KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Accountabilities Scope of work


Reduce Filler downtime 5% in comparison to last year.

To ensure all responsibility for maintenance activities of all line & utility equipment’s, in the plant. All responsibility for availability, issue of spares, raw & packaging material specifications. To Ensure completion of all types of maintenance activities in timely.


Timely maintenance of equipment’s- 90%.

To ensure effective implementation of Food Safety Management System.


No LTA

To ensure all monitoring, maintaining and improvement of the plant QM rating results, All responsibility for implementation of GMP, HK & pest-control activities in plant, To upgrade and any change in the verification of PRP's, OPRP's & CCP's in reference to FSMS and statuary/regulatory requirement. To ensure that all the Hazardous wastes are being stored as per legal as well as statutory requirements.


100% of corrective actions closed out within specified time-frame

To ensure all type of communication regarding quality and legal aspects with company corporate and other related departments. Direct responsibility to adhere external testing calendar of plant for various areas as per Company and legal standards.


Follow-up maintenance of power conveyor, crate conveyor, bottle conveyor, gear boxes, conveyor's lubrication & pumps.

Monitoring of Electrical safety as per schedule. All electrical drawings & PNI diagram to be maintained in a file. Minimize DG Operation.


Knowledge & implantation of ISO-22000, GMP & GHK .

Responsibility for the conformance of specification of the finished goods leaving the plant. Handle consumer concerns related to product integrity, with the consumer response department.

  • Assist in the design and installation of new systems, working closely with the Plant Manager and Regional Chief Technical Officer to achieve plant efficiency targets.
  • Maintain a high level of communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a smooth flow of information and resources.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B. Tech) or a related field is required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the beverage industry, with a proven track record of successful maintenance management.
  • Expertise in team management and the ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, GMP, and GHK standards, and their implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in electrical safety monitoring and maintenance, including knowledge of electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with ISO-22000 standards and their application in the beverage industry.
  • Analytical skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry best practices.
