Job Description-
Lead and manage the Strategic Purchasing department with a team of managers and deputy managers

Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
-
Set departmental objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement
-
Drive digital transformation initiatives in procurement processes and systems
-
Establish and monitor cost reduction targets across all procurement categories (direct and indirect materials)

Implement value engineering initiatives and total cost of ownership analysis

Review and approve major purchase decisions, contracts, and supplier agreements
-
Design and execute comprehensive supplier development programs and strategic partnerships

Establish supplier performance evaluation frameworks and conduct quarterly business reviews

Implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies including supplier diversification and contingency planning
-
Lead critical supplier negotiations for high-value contracts and strategic agreements
-
Coordinate with global sourcing teams to leverage economies of scale and best practices
-
Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and sourcing opportunities
-
Develop category strategies for all material groups and commodity portfolios
-
Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Project Management teams to align procurement with business objectives
-
Support new product development and project launches with strategic sourcing solutions
-
Provide procurement expertise to support business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
-
Recruit, mentor, and develop procurement professionals to build a high-performing team
-
Conduct performance reviews and establish individual development plans for team members
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional excellence

Ensure knowledge transfer and succession planning within the purchasing organization

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, sourcing board protocols, and regulatory requirements

Implement and maintain ethical sourcing practices and sustainability initiatives
-
Drive SAP/ERP system optimization for procurement processes and data management
-
Oversee contract management, documentation, and compliance audits
-
Manage CAPEX and OPEX procurement budgets and ensure optimal resource allocation

Present procurement performance metrics, savings achievements, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership
-
Develop data-driven insights and analytics to support strategic decision-making
Monitor and report on supply chain risks, market dynamics, and mitigation actions
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred)

20+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement and supply chain management

At least 8-10 years in leadership roles managing procurement teams and strategic initiatives

Proven track record in manufacturing, automation engineering, or capital equipment industry

Deep expertise in SAP/ERP systems and procurement technologies
-
Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), or equivalent highly desirable
