Job Description
As a Deputy Manager in Fabric Sourcing, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of fabrics to meet the organization’s production and quality requirements. Your role will involve identifying reliable vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely deliveries, monitoring fabric quality, and aligning sourcing strategies with business goals. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring cost-effective, sustainable, and high-quality fabric sourcing to support the company’s manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective fabric sourcing strategies aligned with production requirements and company objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable local and international fabric suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and value.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed quality, lead times, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and design teams to ensure fabric availability and specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate sourcing records, contracts, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Stay updated with global fabric trends, innovations, and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Resolve any supply chain disruptions or fabric quality issues in a timely manner.
- Support budget planning, cost control, and procurement-related reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide sourcing staff to improve efficiency and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in fabric sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of textile fabrics, suppliers, and global sourcing markets.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
- Awareness of sustainability and compliance requirements in fabric sourcing.
