Design Engineer

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, develop, and simulate mechanical components and systems.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and stress analyses.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, product development, and R&D.
• Select materials and components that align with design requirements.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production or testing phases.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
• Assessing a design brief to gauge the design requirements
• Conducting and/or using research on user experience and needs, current market trends and general functionality
• Developing solutions that solve user problems
• Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally friendly
• Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using computer-aided design tools
• Conducting rigorous usability tests and modifying the product based on the test results
• Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Proven experience in design engineering, preferably in [specific industry].
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
