Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, develop, and simulate mechanical components and systems.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and stress analyses.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, product development, and R&D.
- Select materials and components that align with design requirements.
- Optimize designs for efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production or testing phases.
- Stay up to date with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Assessing a design brief to gauge the design requirements
- Conducting and/or using research on user experience and needs, current market trends and general functionality
- Developing solutions that solve user problems
- Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally friendly
- Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using computer-aided design tools
- Conducting rigorous usability tests and modifying the product based on the test results
- Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Proven experience in design engineering, preferably in [specific industry].
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
