Job Summary

DNB Construction LLC is looking for an experienced and highly capable Design Manager to lead and manage the entire design department for our construction projects.

The ideal candidate must have minimum 7 years of experience in UAE with Engineering Consultancy and Building Construction projects, with strong expertise in managing architects, design engineers, authority approvals, project coordination, design development, and multidisciplinary design execution.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all design activities from concept development through execution, ensuring quality, compliance, coordination, and timely delivery of design outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage the complete Design Department, including Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, and Design Coordinators.
• Supervise and review all architectural, structural, and engineering design deliverables.
• Allocate tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure timely completion of design milestones.
• Establish design workflows, standards, and quality control procedures within the department.

Design Development & Coordination

• Oversee project design development from concept stage to detailed construction drawings.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Coordinate design activities between internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination between Architecture, Structural, and MEP designs.
• Resolve design conflicts and technical coordination issues before execution stage.

Authority Approvals & Compliance

• Manage submission and approval processes with relevant authorities in UAE.
• Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations, Dubai Municipality requirements, and building codes.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants regarding revisions, approvals, and technical clarifications.

Project Planning & Execution Support

• Work closely with project teams during construction stages to provide design support and technical solutions.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Monitor design changes, revisions, and variation requirements during project execution.
• Ensure designs are aligned with project budgets and execution timelines.

Quality & Technical Control

• Maintain high technical and quality standards for all design outputs.
• Conduct design reviews and internal coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Identify risks, design errors, and technical gaps proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum 7+ years of UAE experience in Engineering Consultancy / Building Construction Industry.
• Proven experience managing Architects, Design Engineers, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong experience in Architectural Design, Structural Coordination, and Engineering Design Management.
• Experience handling authority submissions and approvals in UAE.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, design development, BOQ coordination, and technical detailing.
• Excellent understanding of building codes, authority compliance, and construction standards.
• Proficiency in **AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other design software tools.
• Strong leadership, team management, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Candidate Profile

✔ Previous UAE Engineering Consultancy experience is mandatory
✔ Experience managing full design departments is required
✔ Strong leadership and people management skills
✔ Experience in high-rise, residential, commercial, and villa projects preferred
✔ Ability to coordinate with consultants, authorities, and execution teams effectively

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
