Position Summary
The Designer I role offers an opportunity to contribute to both the creative and technical aspects of architectural design. Working closely with senior designers and project teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all project phases — from concept sketches to construction documentation. You’ll be part of a team that transforms ideas into buildable, meaningful architecture while developing your skills in design thinking, software, and project workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior designers by producing accurate Revit-based drawings, construction details, and presentation materials.

  • Create 2D and 3D sketches and visualizations to explore and communicate design concepts.

  • Assist with design development, graphics, and preparation of technical and client presentation packages.

  • Contribute to research and storytelling that strengthens project vision and design intent.

  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure drawings meet codes, standards, and OBMI guidelines.

  • Attend meetings, track deliverables, and collaborate with project managers and consultants.

  • Explore computational design tools (e.g., Grasshopper) to enhance innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree a plus).

  • 3–5 years of professional experience as an emerging designer.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Rhino; Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

  • Strong foundation in architectural drafting and visualization techniques.

  • Understanding of professional standards (AIA, RIBA, ARB, or equivalent) and building codes.

  • Knowledge of computational design tools such as Grasshopper is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.
