We are seeking a Drafter who is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and energized by collaborative problem-solving. You will help transform engineering concepts into accurate, high-quality drawings that guide manufacturing and installation. This role is ideal for someone early in their drafting career looking to grow or for an experienced drafter who wants to make a meaningful impact in a smaller, close-knit company with a global footprint.

Responsibilities

As a key member of our drafting and engineering team, you will play an essential role in bringing complex building systems from concept through installation. Your contributions will include:

  • Technical Drafting: Produce clear, accurate 2D and 3D drawings for structural components, assemblies, and complete building systems.
  • Modelling & Detailing: Develop and maintain detailed models using CAD and Tekla (preferred), ensuring precision throughout all project phases.
  • Design Collaboration: Work closely with engineers to interpret design intent, incorporate structural requirements, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Code & Standards Alignment: Apply relevant codes, standards, and internal drafting guidelines to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications prior to release.
  • Manufacturing & Construction Support: Provide drawing clarification and technical support to fabrication teams and field installation crews.
  • Project Coordination: Manage multiple drafting tasks simultaneously, maintaining organized workflows and meeting project deadlines.

What You Bring

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working on large-scale or complex building projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design and drafting software (CAD); experience with Tekla is preferred.
  • Familiarity with structural design principles and an understanding of construction materials and building systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize across multiple active projects.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods (6–8 hours/day)
  • Occasionally stand, walk, or move around work areas
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 20 lbs.; occasionally lift heavier items
  • Use computer, phone, and standard office equipment
  • Read, write, and review detailed information on screen or paper
  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually
  • Work in a typical office environment with standard noise and lighting
  • Occasional visits to manufacturing or job sites may be required; ability to use standard PPE when necessary.

Schedule:

  • Our general operating hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • This is an in-office position in Sanford, Maine.
