Job Title: Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer (with Sales Background)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and customer-oriented Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a background in sales or customer engagement. The ideal candidate will provide first-level IT support to end-users while identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, promote IT solutions, and support business growth through their sales acumen.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Support:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral device problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and user accounts.
- Respond promptly to support tickets, calls, and emails in a professional manner.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to Level 2/3 support teams when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
- Understand client requirements and recommend suitable IT products or services.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical pre-sales support and product demonstrations.
- Identify potential upselling or cross-selling opportunities during support interactions.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with the sales and account management teams to support business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or similar technical roles.
- Prior sales or customer-facing experience is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk).
- Basic understanding of IT products, licensing, and networking.
- Experience using remote support tools.
- Sales certifications or training will be an added advantage.
