Development Manager

The Development Manager shall be responsible for the execution of a portfolio of projects under their assignment. Responsibilities consist of supervising and completing all activities associated with project development as well as providing oversight to the Business Development and Finance team with prospect review and due diligence for new opportunities in the market.


The Development Manager reports to the Head of Development in the current structure.


The Development Manager will work closely with the Legal, Development, Projects, Finance and Marketing. The Development Manager will also liaise with many external vendors in relation to consultancy and construction activities.


Principal Accountabilities – Development & Project Management

  • Lead land acquisition campaigns, negotiate contracts, easements, and right-of-way agreements.
  • Manage stakeholder communications including landowners, consultants, contractors, communities, and government authorities.
  • Coordinate consultants (environmental, engineering, legal, etc.) and oversee permitting, approvals, and regulatory compliance.
  • Negotiate key project agreements (e.g., road use, conditional permits, tax incentives) and manage pre-construction activities.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, risks, and provide status reports for management decision-making.
  • Support business development by evaluating market opportunities, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal, construction) to ensure seamless project execution.


Qualifications

  • University degree with professional certification (MRICS/MCIOB or equivalent).
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in end-to-end development management.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex real estate projects across the full lifecycle.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, and fluency in English.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads and work effectively within a team.
