Development Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a Development Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of development projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for managing scope, budget, timeline, and resources while serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical knowledge, leadership skills, and organizational expertise to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Strategy

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans including schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and potential obstacles, implementing mitigation strategies.
• Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to fit project needs.

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and QA testers.
• Assign tasks, balance workloads, and ensure team members have the tools to succeed.
• Facilitate regular meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and maintain momentum.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team.

Execution & Monitoring

• Oversee day-to-day project execution, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Track performance against KPIs, budgets, and timelines, adjusting plans as needed.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
• Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial objectives are met.

Stakeholder & Client Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, senior management, and clients.
• Deliver regular project updates, status reports, and risk assessments.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to secure required services and resources.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Ensure all deliverables meet defined quality standards and technical requirements.
• Oversee testing and QA processes to deliver reliable, bug-free solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including project plans, specifications, and decisions.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and inform future initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in software, web, or product development.
• Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong background in leading technical teams.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices, and tools.
• Technical acumen to effectively communicate with engineers and developers.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• PMP, CSM, or other relevant project management certifications highly desirable.
