School Nurse Job Description
A School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students and staff within a school environment. They provide medical care, health education, and support for students with health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
- Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
- Administer medications as prescribed by doctors and authorized by parents.
- Maintain student health records and medical documentation.
- Monitor students with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies.
- Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, height, weight, etc.).
- Educate students and staff about health, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Develop health care plans for students with special medical needs.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.
- Ensure compliance with school health policies and government regulations.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when needed.
- Promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Nursing degree or diploma.
- Valid nursing license or registration.
- Knowledge of child health and development.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
- Organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Compassion, patience, and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment
- Nursery, Primary and secondary schools.
- Public or private educational institutions.
- May work during school hours with occasional extracurricular activities.
Pay: AED4,000.00 per month
