DHA NURSE

School Nurse Job Description

A School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students and staff within a school environment. They provide medical care, health education, and support for students with health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
• Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
• Administer medications as prescribed by doctors and authorized by parents.
• Maintain student health records and medical documentation.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies.
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, height, weight, etc.).
• Educate students and staff about health, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
• Develop health care plans for students with special medical needs.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.
• Ensure compliance with school health policies and government regulations.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when needed.
• Promote a safe and healthy school environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Nursing degree or diploma.
• Valid nursing license or registration.
• Knowledge of child health and development.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Compassion, patience, and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment

• Nursery, Primary and secondary schools.
• Public or private educational institutions.
• May work during school hours with occasional extracurricular activities.

Pay: AED4,000.00 per month
