Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are looking for an individual with good attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines. This role requires proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines, as well as a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of any and all customer and/or company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension components.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks.
• Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow efficiency and quality of service.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

Skills

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
• Familiarity with dealership operations is a plus.
• Experience in fabrication, welding, and tire service is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, drivetrain, electric diagnostic, brake repair, alignment, and assembly processes.
• Proficient in the operation of heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and soldering techniques.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team while demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
• Capacity for heavy lifting as required by the job duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
