Duties

  • Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing to identify mechanical or electrical issues in diesel engines and heavy equipment
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other critical components
  • Fabricate parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Conduct tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, and suspension work to maintain safety standards
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform precise repairs on complex machinery
  • Assist in assembly or disassembly of heavy equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks regularly to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures when necessary
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics
  • Not a must but a plus if you are Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experienced with power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical issues
  • Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures in a workshop environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
