Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of a Graphic Design Instructor fall into several categories:

1. Instruction and Course Delivery

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans and lectures on core graphic design principles, tools, and techniques.
• Teach courses covering subjects like typography, color theory, composition, branding, digital illustration, and web/UX/UI design.
• Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and technologies in instruction.
• Assess student performance by creating, assigning, and evaluating quizzes, exams, assignments, and practical projects, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

2. Curriculum and Program Development

• Review, evaluate, and revise course descriptions and program curriculum in collaboration with other faculty.
• Incorporate current industry trends, technologies, and professional practices to ensure the program's relevance.
• Select appropriate textbooks, software, and supplementary materials.

3. Academic and Professional Service

• Participate in departmental and institutional committees and meetings (e.g., curriculum, hiring).
• Stay current with industry advancements and educational methodologies through professional development, workshops, and research.
• (In higher education/professor roles) Engage in research or creative professional activities that contribute to the field of graphic design.
