Job Purpose:
The
Director – Landscaping Delivery
is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end planning, execution, and quality assurance of all landscaping and external works on major infrastructure programs, with a strong emphasis on aesthetics, sustainability, environmental resilience, and timely delivery. The role ensures that
landscaping design intent is translated into world-class, functional, and sustainable green environments
that align with project vision and operational requirements, particularly in high-profile environments like international airports.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement the overall
landscaping delivery strategy
for large-scale projects, aligning with the project's master plan and sustainability goals.

Participate in the early stages of
landscape design coordination
to ensure constructability, feasibility, and delivery readiness.

Define phasing plans, resource allocation, and logistics for landscape implementation.

Project Execution & Oversight

Lead the delivery of
hard and soft landscaping
, including:

Planting schemes, green spaces, lawns, trees, and water features

Irrigation systems and drainage
-
Hardscape elements (paving, outdoor furniture, pathways, lighting)

Coordinate closely with design consultants, contractors, and site engineers to ensure
on-time, within-budget execution

Review and approve
construction and installation methodologies
to maintain quality and minimize environmental impact.

Quality, Health, and Safety

Enforce strict
quality control and HSE
standards during site execution.

Conduct
regular site inspections
to ensure work adheres to landscape design specifications, local regulations, and international best practices.

Ensure proper selection and sourcing of
climate-resilient plant materials
and sustainable landscape elements.

Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with architects, planners, environmental teams, airport operations, and government authorities to ensure smooth interface and compliance.

Manage third-party vendors, suppliers, and landscape contractors, including performance evaluation and contract compliance.

Lead stakeholder presentations on progress, design intent, and delivery timelines.

Sustainability & Innovation

Promote the use of
native species
, low-maintenance design, smart irrigation systems, and
sustainable landscaping practices

Integrate green infrastructure principles such as
bioswales

urban cooling

pollinator-friendly design

stormwater management

Support
LEED, Estidama, or other environmental certification goals
where applicable.

Team Leadership

Lead and manage a team of
landscape engineers, horticulturalists, site supervisors, and inspectors

Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.

Build a high-performing, delivery-focused culture within the landscape delivery function.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in
Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticulture
, or
Environmental Design

Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CMLI, ISA Certified Arborist, PMP) are a plus
-
Minimum
8 years
of experience in landscaping delivery, with at least 3
years in a leadership role

Proven track record in delivering landscaping works on
large-scale infrastructure or aviation projects
-
Deep knowledge of
regional plant species
, soil conditions, and sustainable landscape practices (especially in arid or tropical environments)
