Director of Accounting

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting (CPA) to join our leadership team. The Director will oversee client service delivery, manage a team of accounting professionals, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.

This is a client-facing leadership role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, U.S. GAAP knowledge, and the ability to manage both client relationships and internal teams across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead a team of managers, accountants, and bookkeepers to deliver high-quality accounting services to U.S. clients.

· Manage team performance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction.

· Serve as a primary advisor to clients on accounting and financial matters, including complex transactions.

· Develop and implement best practices for scalable service delivery and process improvements.

· Oversee and review client financials, identify risks, and recommend solutions.

· Collaborate with leadership on staffing, client growth, and firm strategy.

· Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant client-specific requirements.

· Utilize modern accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, Gusto, Karbon) to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

· CPA designation (required).

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s preferred.

· 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.

· Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and advisory.

· Proven ability to lead and inspire teams across geographies.

· Strong client-facing skills with the ability to influence executives and decision-makers.

· Advanced technical skills in accounting systems: QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, Gusto, Karbon, Excel, Office365.
