Director of Accounting

Description:

The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting for CardioSphere Management Solutions. This role ensures accurate and timely financial statements, maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and GAAP, and provides strategic financial insights to support physician practices and the organization’s growth. The Director partners closely with operations, revenue cycle management, and clinical leadership to ensure sound financial management across multiple cardiology practice entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash management, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Consolidate financial reporting across multiple cardiology practice entities and affiliated service lines.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulations, and payer contract requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax preparers and oversee annual audits and preparation of returns.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Cycle, Operations, and Clinical leadership to align financial and operational goals
  • Oversee accounting systems and financial software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, preferably within a physician practice management organization, MSO, or multi-site medical group.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue recognition, provider compensation models, and payer reimbursement.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and healthcare financial reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
