Position Summary:
The Springs Living is seeking a Director of Communications to lead and execute the company’s communications strategy, shaping a clear and credible voice across the brand for employees, residents, families, media and industry audiences. This role will collaborate on the development of our narrative and ensure our purpose, culture, and business priorities are articulated through targeted, proactive and reactive communications that strengthen trust, support growth, and position The Springs Living as a trusted advisor guiding the aging journey. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll partner closely with executive leadership, report to the VP of Marketing & Communications, lead a small team, and personally drive high-priority work in a fast-moving, growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management

Set communications priorities and direction, ensuring alignment with company strategy and consistency in voice, messaging, and quality across all outputs

Coach and guide team members in communications best practices, content development, and stakeholder-specific messaging. Including providing clear direction, accountability, and support of cross functional team(s)

Foster cross-functional relationships across Marcom, HR, Operations, and leadership to align and deploy integrated communications

Establish and manage workflows, processes, and external partners to support execution in a lean, fast-paced environment; including agencies and vendors
Communications Strategy & Execution

Define and lead an integrated communications strategy that translates business priorities, growth initiatives, and culture into a clear, unified narrative across the organization

Align leadership around that narrative, ensuring consistency in how strategy, culture, and key milestones are communicated internally and externally. Includes materials development and distribution

Build and manage an integrated editorial and content calendar, partnering cross-functionally to surface stories and drive a proactive, consistent cadence in support of strategy

Lead end-to-end execution of communications initiatives and content, balancing near term events, long-term brand building, producing quality written and multimedia materials that reflect The Springs Living’s voice, tonality and priorities
Thought Leadership & Content Strategy

Lead the development of thought leadership POVs that position and enable The Springs Living to engage as a credible voice in existing industry conversations, including aging, workforce, and the future of senior living

Ideate and oversee direction for content development across channels, including LinkedIn, blogs, media materials, speakerships, event series, partnering with the team to deliver a consistent cadence and presence

Establish and maintain a regular cadence of storytelling on LinkedIn to elevate employer brand, showcase culture, and build credibility in our leadership as we earn our role as trusted advisors in the industry

Ensure content and social storytelling are aligned to key messages and business priorities, creatively tailoring the extension and amplification of the brand across earned and owned channels
Internal Communications & Employer Brand

Lead internal communications strategy to ensure employees understand company direction, priorities, and key initiatives, especially during moments of growth, and organizational milestones

Support executive-to-employee communications proactively and reactively

Strengthen employer brand to support retention by elevating opportunities that position TSL as a career, not just a job, and through consistent access and information about career development and opportunity

Own and manage internal channels, including email and Team Springs app, ensuring consistent, timely, and measurably engaging communication across the organization

Tailor communications across key audiences, including home office, community teams, residents, and families to ensure messages are relevant, clear, and meaningful to each group
External Reputation & Media

Support external visibility aligned to business priorities, including market expansion, key announcements, and leadership positioning
-
Lead proactive and reactive media engagement strategies. Including developing and maintain relationships with key local, and industry publications, positioning our leaders as credible voices on aging, senior living, and workforce culture

Identify and support executive opportunities for conference participation, and industry engagement, including crafting messaging, speeches and support of presentations

Serve as communications advisor and spokesperson for organizational announcements

Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities or risks
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years of experience in corporate communications including internal and external communications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills combined with proficiency in digital communication tools including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, AI tool platforms, and social media platforms

Proven ability to balance short-term deliverables with strategic planning and adapt quickly to changing priorities

Excellent project management, demonstrated self-starter mindset with a collaborative approach and strong organizational skills

Experience advising senior leaders and developing executive communications, including messaging, speaking materials, and media engagement

Experience building and managing content across digital and social platforms, including LinkedIn
-
Demonstrated ability to translate complex business strategy into clear, compelling narratives
-
Familiarity with Senior Living industry is helpful, but emotional connection with our mission and a desire to learn and develop is the key to success
