Director of Ecommerce (KSA) — Riyadh


Fynde has partnered with a major, multi-format retailer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to appoint an E-Commerce Director to lead end-to-end digital growth across web, app, marketplace and quick-commerce channels.


You will own the digital P&L and steer the omnichannel roadmap for the Kingdom. This includes commercial strategy, onsite trading, merchandising, growth marketing, product and UX, last-mile fulfilment, marketplace operations, and the supporting data and technology stack. The role is both strategic and hands-on: you will set a clear three-year plan while delivering quarter-on-quarter results in a fast-moving, high-scale environment.


What you’ll lead.

You will define and execute the e-commerce strategy for KSA, translating board objectives into a pragmatic plan with clear financial and customer outcomes. Day to day, you will optimise the onsite customer journey, improve conversion, average order value and repeat rate, and drive category expansion and promo effectiveness. You will guide trading and pricing decisions in lockstep with merchandising and supply chain, ensuring availability, accurate content and profitable mix. You will develop performance marketing across paid search, paid social, affiliates and CRM, with rigorous attribution and CAC/LTV guardrails. You will strengthen delivery propositions, from same-day and next-day to scheduled slots and store pick-up, partnering closely with operations and last-mile providers to protect NPS while improving cost-to-serve. You will scale marketplace and vendor programmes, onboarding sellers, improving SLAs and expanding assortment without diluting brand standards. You will own the e-commerce product roadmap, simplifying the stack, accelerating feature delivery with engineering, and embedding experimentation, analytics and personalisation throughout the funnel. You will build, coach and retain a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team and create effective ways of working with retail, merchandising, logistics, finance, legal and IT.


Success looks like

In the first twelve months you will lift digital revenue and contribution margin meaningfully while improving NPS and on-time delivery. You will reduce unit cost-to-serve through better slot density, substitution logic and operational discipline. You will deliver a measurable improvement in conversion and repeat purchase via faster pages, cleaner navigation, richer product content and targeted CRM journeys. You will expand marketplace GMV and seller quality while maintaining customer experience. You will land two to three signature initiatives, for example, improved loyalty integration, Arabic UX enhancements, and a streamlined checkout, that become durable growth levers.


What you bring

You have deep leadership experience running a sizeable e-commerce or omnichannel business in grocery, general merchandise or adjacent high-SKU retail, with full P&L accountability and a track record of scaling revenue at improved unit economics. You combine commercial acuity with customer obsession and operational depth, and you are fluent in the levers of growth marketing, onsite trading, product/UX, catalogue quality, fulfilment and last-mile. You are data-driven, comfortable setting hypotheses, instrumenting the funnel, and making decisions with clear metrics. You have led cross-functional teams and vendors, and you communicate crisply with executive stakeholders. Saudi national or fluent in Arabic is a must, with 6+ years of experience working in the region. Familiarity with marketplace models, q-commerce, loyalty ecosystems and modern e-commerce platforms is important. A relevant degree is expected; an MBA is welcome but not required.


Key measures

Performance will be assessed on digital revenue growth, contribution margin, conversion rate, CAC to LTV ratio, active customer growth and retention, NPS/CSAT, on-time/in-full performance, cost-to-serve, marketplace GMV and seller SLA compliance, and delivery of the product roadmap on time and within budget.


Location and terms

The role is based in Riyadh with national remit. A competitive executive package is offered, including performance bonus and relocation support where applicable.
