St. Francis Center (SFC), an institution of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, was established in 1983. SFC is a refuge for homeless people in the metro Denver area. Our programs and services are tailored toward adults and focus on daytime shelter, social services, health and wellness, housing with supportive services, employment, and outreach. In SFC’s services, the people we serve can work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, to establish the first step toward transformation, new beginnings, and stability.


We are currently looking for a Director of Facilities at Stone Creek Non-Congregate Shelter

Department: Housing

Exemption Status: Full-Time, exempt position eligible for an excellent benefit package as outlined below.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Facilities will establish a comprehensive system for monitoring and managing Stone Creek property, compliance requirements, as well as coordination of resources needed to successfully operate the physical building(s). This position is responsible for the implementation of best practices and quality control of the hotel residences and all aspects of maintaining a safe building. The position will include oversight of external contractors as well as coordination with the Department of Housing Stability (“HOST”), City General Services/Real Estate department staff and other city partners.


This position works collaboratively with guests, SFC services staff, partner agencies, community entities, and other stakeholders to ensure guests live in a safe and clean setting that reflects the caring and peaceful environment expected by our agency. This position must be committed to working toward the overarching goal of helping guests obtain their individual goals leading to housing, while balancing the need to maintain a safe and fully functioning well-cared for facility.


The Director of Facilities must be skilled in the implementation and management of data programs; compliance requirements in non-congregate shelter, social services or similar systems of monitoring; and ensuring compliance with program standards. The Director must demonstrate the ability to negotiate successfully with the various partners in our service delivery.


Role and responsibilities:


  • Manage the Facilities team to improve safety, repair systems, and

maximize occupancy.

  • Implement operational improvements to restore vacant rooms to service.
  • Strengthen partnerships with City General Services to accelerate project completion

and resource allocation. Strong relationship-building skills with public and private partners, including city agencies (HOST, General Services), contractors, vendors, and internal departments.


  • Skill at navigating multiple perspectives and interests to achieve shared goals.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party vendors, track supply inventory, and support budgetary compliance.
  • Respond effectively to facility-related emergencies (floods, power outages, fire alarms, guest incidents, etc.) while maintaining guest safety and service continuity.
  • Oversight and tracking of room turns, maintenance tracking (SFC items and City), general cleanliness of the building, external maintenance, and cleanliness (snow removal, weed control, pet cleanup, etc.

EDUCATION (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience in a related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE


  • Ability to work independently to meet a timeline and follow a project through to completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with written correspondence and verbal interactions, including in high-pressure situations.
  • A willingness to manage and supervise contracts, contractors, or employees (as needed).
  • Conflict Mediation/Resolution Skills highly encouraged.
  • Meeting Facilitation Skills and the ability to hear multiple sides of a situation to arrive at a solution.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Trauma-responsive approach or willingness to learn this approach.
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Resilience and a ‘thick skinned’ approach to work.
  • Intrinsic motivation to achieve goals.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range is up to $67,000 depending on qualifications.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a robust benefits package including:
