About CMFCAA

The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, and advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services &partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.

Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400 foster children, and over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.

Position Summary:

The Director of HR is responsible for ensuring that human resources best practices are equitably and consistently applied, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment. This role will oversee the recruitment, selection, and retention strategies necessary to support the organization’s mission, as well as manage benefit programs, workforce planning, and overall employee satisfaction. The Director of HR will play a key role in building a cohesive team culture and maintaining a competitive compensation structure.

Essential Functions/Job Expectations

  • Ensure HR best practices are equitably and consistently applied to promote high employee satisfaction.

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process to support the organization’s service needs.

  • Monitor and manage benefit programs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Assess workforce planning and salary competitiveness as part of the organization’s annual planning process.

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department.

  • Maintain clear and open communication with your direct supervisor regarding service delivery, concerns, or any questions.

  • Conducts internal investigations into personnel matters when needed.

  • Ensure the completion of quarterly audits of employee files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Masters preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources.

  • A background in nonprofit leadership or a deep understanding of the unique dynamics of mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred

  • At least 3 years of management experience.

  • SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or willing to become certified within 6 months of employment

  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred

  • Experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change in a fast-growing organization.

  • Valid Driver’s License Required

  • Reliable transportation Required

  • Background checks Required

Salary

  • Salary starts at $60,000 commensurate with education and experience
