About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and entrepreneurial Director of Marketing to help shape the next phase of Langston's growth. This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role for a marketer who is equally passionate about brand building, demand generation, and the evolving Consumer Insights landscape. You will define, architect, and execute the marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition, and sustained revenue growth.

As the owner of the Marketing function, you will oversee all aspects of go-to-market strategy, with a particular focus on demand generation through high-energy, self-directed execution and continuous learning. Working closely with the Director of Sales, you will position Langston's offerings to the right-fit customers who stand to benefit most from partnering with us.

Your mission is twofold: accelerate Langston's growth trajectory today while building the foundation for a best-in-class, insights-led B2B marketing function that can scale with the company. This includes leveraging our original research as a demand engine, sharpening and modernizing our narrative, refining our digital presence, and bringing rigor and consistency to how we show up in the market. You will become a true expert in Langston's offerings and competitive landscape, translating that knowledge into compelling messaging and high-quality marketing assets that drive measurable impact.

This remote role requires infrequent travel to conferences and team offsites. The Director of Marketing will report to one of two founding Partners at Langston.

The Director of Marketing role stretches across eight areas:

  • Syndicated & Modular Product Marketing
Help bring to market Langston's emerging syndicated research product and help shape Langston's existing research offerings. You'll be instrumental in refining the value proposition, packaging, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Content & Thought Leadership Engine
Create and maintain a consistent drumbeat of high-quality, insight-rich content that generates inbound leads and positions Langston as a go-to partner for consumer insights and strategy. You'll collaborate closely with the Insights & Strategy team to translate findings into compelling whitepapers, POVs, social posts, and email content.
  • Brand Stewardship/Brand Presence
Evolve Langston's identity across digital and physical touchpoints. You'll also work with our designer to manage ongoing optimization of the Langston website to enhance brand perception, SEO, and conversion.
  • Performance & Analytics
Track, analyze, and optimize marketing performance across channels using tools like Google Analytics and CRM reporting. You'll bring a data-driven mindset to everything you do.
  • CRM Setup & Opportunity Management
Own ongoing operation of Langston's CRM (e.g., Hubspot). You'll ensure meticulous pipeline tracking, opportunity hygiene, and workflow integration across Marketing and Business Development functions.
  • Sales Enablement & Collateral Creation
Work with the Insights & Strategy team to craft brand-aligned materials that help close deals, from one-pagers and case studies to tailored decks and outreach templates.
  • Earned Media & PR
Help amplify Langston's visibility by identifying media opportunities. This involves pitching original stories and data to publications, and building relationships with key industry editors and platforms.
  • Team Leadership (Future-Oriented)
While this is currently a roll-up-your-sleeves, do-it-yourself role, we are seeking someone with the potential and interest to build and lead a small and agile marketing team over time. In the near term, you may collaborate with freelancers or contractors as needed.

Your Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled B2B marketer who meets the following experiences & qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing with a strong preference for marketing experience in the consumer insights research space
  • Track record of successful demand generation in syndicated research, SaaS, or productized services
  • Demonstrated success managing a CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), including setup, opportunity tracking, reporting, and hygiene practices
  • Proven ability to generate and nurture leads through both organic and outbound strategies
  • Experience successfully producing thought leadership content, brand stories, and marketing assets in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing tactics (SEO, email, social, web) and experience managing a corporate website
  • Experience building sales enablement materials (e.g., case studies, one-pagers, tailored decks)
  • Comfort analyzing performance data and adjusting strategy based on what's working
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills—with a keen sense of voice and audience
  • High level of organization and self-sufficiency; you know how to prioritize and execute with limited resources
  • A collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with strategy, research, and business development teams
