A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading all purchasing and inventory control activities to ensure the company acquires high-quality products and services at the most competitive prices. This role oversees supplier management and inventory optimization to support company objectives and operational efficiency. The Director will collaborate cross-functionally with key departments to ensure materials and supplies are delivered on time and align with production requirements.
Qualifications For a Supplier Quality Engineer
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline (required)

Minimum of 8 years in purchasing and inventory control management, including supervisory experience

Demonstrated history of process improvement and cost reduction achievement
ESSENTAIL FUNTIONS AND SKILLS:
-
Develops and implements purchasing and inventory control procedures and sequence of operations within department
-
With buyers, reviews market, price, delivery conditions, and tends to determine presents and future material availability.
-
Monitor purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
-
Reviews weekly inventory trends and discuss variations with appropriate staff members
-
Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word

Experience with Epicor (preferred)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
-
Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization and drive

Customer focused attitude: desire to grow with and contribute to a customer focused organization
-
Demonstrate strong leadership, procurement expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires working
Monday - Friday during typical business hours
and after hours as necessary.
