Director of Transportation (Full Time, Towson)

What to expect

Directly oversees and maintains the quality and efficiency of Sheppard Pratt’s transportation services. Responsible for integration of transportation services throughout Sheppard Pratt in a manner that promotes safety, compliance, and operational efficiency to reduce liability and improve performance. Interacts with multiple external and internal customers to ensure that the fleet is properly maintained, the maintenance records are accessible, complete, and meet regulatory requirements, and all agency drivers are properly trained and organized to ensure effective workflow. Oversees the transportation routes for Sheppard Pratt programs with input from Program Managers.

The pay range for this position is $79,955.20 minimum to $131,800.45 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.


What we need from you

  • Management and supervisory experience.
  • H.S. Diploma/GED and (2) years of college/technical school, and/or 5 years of direct job-related experience.
    • Requires knowledge of dispatching, route planning, records management, and general technical skills.
  • Current, valid MD State issued CDL driver’s license as well as a driving record with 3 or fewer points on it at the time of appointment and ongoing thereafter
  • Ability or experience of working with people with disabilities.
  • Experience using transportation management software required as well as intermediate experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical skills sufficient to edit documents, generate reports and logs, create forms, and summarize quality measures.
