Dispatcher

Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive, record, and dispatch orders to approved customers.
- Verify specification compliance of all dispatched orders.
- Perform direct data entry with accuracy.
- Assist with assigning orders to plants and scheduling production to maximize delivery efficiency.
- Closely monitor cycle times, weather, demand graphs, production, and delivery status, scheduled “will calls” and related data.
- Adjust assignments to ensure production and delivery efficiency.
- Answer routine questions from customers concerning delivery and products.
- Communicate with drivers to ensure fuel efficient routes are taken to delivery location.
- Cross train in department to fill in when needed with communicating throughout day with other plants to ensure all customer needs are met. This may require scheduling an order with an outlying plant and switching orders around to best accommodate the customer.
- Weekly downloads into Rocketstart.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
- Well-developed communication skills
- Confidence in decision-making
- Must multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little supervision
- Willingness to advance through additional training
Education / Training Requirements
- One or two years of related experience and/ or training.
- High-school diploma
Schedule
- 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wage
- $28.00 / hour
