We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate and manage transportation operations efficiently. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, clients, and logistics teams, ensuring timely delivery of freight and optimal fleet utilization. As a Dispatcher you will directly impact the overall efficiency of daily operations and aid in resource management as you coordinate and assign routes and prioritize calls for truck drivers within the organization. You will coordinate communication and logistics between drivers and customers to ensure timely and efficient service pickup and delivery. You will be logging calls, sourcing information from the necessary departments and supervising the field units’ routes to prioritize and organize their schedules. The Dispatcher will ensure each call to a business receives the appropriate response in a timely manner. Only candidates with the required skills and experience will be considered.

Duties

• Communicate directly with drivers regarding schedules, route updates, documentation, and operational changes
• Asking questions to gather information from callers and prioritize calls based on responses.
• Relaying information, such as work orders and background information, to and from drivers, customers, and supervisors.
• Using telephones, text messages or messaging services to contact drivers or customers as required.
• Speaking with supervisors and customers to resolve. challenges or requests.
• Preparing daily work schedules.
• Creating or receiving work orders in TMS. Complete load requirements with POD’s, TIR’s etc.
• Full and Empty Free Time management for Port returns
• Keeping accurate records of customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed and inventory records.
• Working closely and collaboratively with the Logistics Manager.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Import knowledge (preferred)

· Port system management

· Knowledge of DOT regulations & Driver compliance (strongly preferred)

· Time management skills

· High attention to detail

· Timeliness on communication and responses

Communication skills to deliver clear instructions and relay information in a fast-paced environment.

• Clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel.
• Multitasking skills to communicate with callers and work crews while carrying out other tasks, such as data entry.
• Computer skills to use database, email, GPS or scheduling software programs. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook
• Ability to remain stationary throughout a shift.

·This is an onsite position, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task under pressure, and strong organizational and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of map reading, route planning, and vehicle tracking technology is essential for logistics dispatchers, and the ability to remain composed in high-stress situations is critical. EOE

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
