Dispatcher

Job Summary

Dispatchers are an integral part of our Operations team. They are the main contacts for our growing fleet and customer base. Dispatchers are responsible for effectively communicating with drivers and customers throughout the life cycle of an order to ensure timely pick-up and a safe delivery. Dispatchers schedule delivery appointments, enter orders, bid on freight, update customer websites and portals, and assign and dispatch drivers for loads.

Skills & Qualifications

An ideal candidate must be a confident and energetic person with an excellent work ethic and solid problem-solving skills. That person must also be able to handle high-pressure situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• REQUIRED: Transportation, supply chain, or logistics experience
• Strong computer skills and experience with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must work well on a team and foster good working relationships
• Flexibility with assigned work and schedule backing up other team members
• Experience with TMW transportation management software and Total Mail messaging a plus

Job Duties:

• Develop efficient routes to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely fashion
• Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
• Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents in order to revise routes as needed
• Answer calls from delivery drivers and relay any emergencies they have to the appropriate channels
• Other duties as requested
