Dispatcher - Customer Service

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing exceptional support and assistance. You will be responsible for managing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams. This position requires a strong understanding of transportation management and supply chain processes.

Duties

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
• Utilize phone systems effectively to manage calls and maintain professional phone etiquette.
• Assist in transportation planning and dispatching activities, coordinating logistics to meet customer needs.
• Monitor GPS systems to track shipments and provide updates to customers as necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions using AS400 or similar software.
• Collaborate with team members to address complex issues and improve overall service delivery.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding their orders, delivery schedules, and any potential delays.

Skills

• Proficiency in transportation management principles is preferred.
• Familiarity with GPS technology for tracking shipments is a plus.
• Strong phone etiquette skills to ensure positive customer interactions.
• Excellent typing skills for efficient data entry and record keeping.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes is beneficial for understanding customer needs.
• Experience with dispatching operations will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
