Responsibilities

• Assist with dispatching freight shipments by coordinating with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
• Support the scheduling of pickups and deliveries by utilizing GPS technology and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for route optimization.
• Enter data accurately into shipping & receiving logs, AS400 systems, and other logistics databases to ensure real-time tracking of shipments.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Help monitor fleet management activities, including vehicle status updates and compliance with transportation planning protocols.
• Assist in analyzing transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within the supply chain.
• Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating freight movement and maintaining organized records of all dispatch activities.

Qualifications

• Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data related to freight movement and logistics operations.
• Basic understanding of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management concepts is a plus.
