Duties
- Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments across multiple regions using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring accurate data entry into AS400 and other logistics platforms.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor fleet management activities, including vehicle status updates and maintenance scheduling.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.
- Oversee freight documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and shipping labels while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in transportation planning by analyzing delivery routes, traffic patterns, and logistical constraints to enhance overall efficiency.
- Support 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers by coordinating shipments and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and incident reports for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams on shipping & receiving operations to ensure seamless logistics flow.
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
- Familiarity with freight operations, dispatching procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret logistics data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in data entry using systems like AS400 or SyteLine; typing skills are essential for efficient documentation.
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy; strong phone etiquette is a must.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams clearly and confidently.
- Experience working within logistics or supply chain environments involving shipping & receiving processes.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
