Position Title: Polymerization Operator

Department: Production Center

About ZL Chemicals

ZL Chemicals is an international manufacturing company with operations across Oman, Kuwait, Canada, and the United States. We specialize in advanced chemical and polymer manufacturing, serving global industrial markets with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and innovation. We are currently developing a state-of-the-art polymer manufacturing plant in Sohar, designed to be one of the largest and most technologically advanced facilities in the region. We are looking for motivated and reliable candidates to join our growing team and support the safe and efficient operation of this new facility.

Position Summary

The Polymerization Operator is responsible for accurately preparing and measuring all monomers and auxiliary materials used in the polymerization process. This includes precise weighing, concentration control, safe handling of chemicals, proper documentation, and strict adherence to operational standards to ensure consistent and stable polymerization reactions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with laboratory personnel to accurately measure monomer content and calculate ingredient dosages based on actual test results.
  • Weigh all auxiliary materials for each batch with high accuracy; weighing must be based on actual measurement, not purchase weight. Perform at least one weighing verification per shift to prevent errors.
  • Ensure final mixture concentrations remain within required ranges; investigate and adjust deviations to maintain stable polymerization reactions and consistent product quality.
  • Handle auxiliary materials carefully, ensuring bags and containers are clean to prevent contamination and minimize raw material waste.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to prevent chemical exposure, skin burns, or other injuries.
  • Maintain complete and accurate operational records and perform proper shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or department leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of required safety training, operational skills training, and factory rules and regulations training.
  • Ability to operate production equipment safely and correctly.
  • Basic understanding of measurement accuracy, weighing procedures, and concentration control is an asset.
  • Careful, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong sense of safety awareness, responsibility, and procedural compliance.
