BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activity in the warehouse. Services customers and maintains warehouse inventory. This includes the overall supervision the hourly work force (ranging from 10-15 associates, including temps).

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of operating systems in packaging and warehouse management.
  • Review daily status reports to determine workload and timeliness of facility efforts; plans work to meet objectives with minimum use of overtime.
  • Develop and support goals regarding safety metrics.
  • Maintains inventory according to MSC policy and procedure.
  • Performs and records daily, monthly and yearly cycle counts according to MSC policy and procedure.
  • Receives inventory and stocks in warehouse.
  • Maintains bins according to MSC policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for counter and walk in customer service including customer pick ups at branch location.
  • Maintains compliance with ISO9002 standards within the facility.
  • Performs routine safety training for warehouse associates in accordance with MSC policy and procedure.
  • Order and maintain warehouse supplies according to MSC policy and procedure.
  • Performs, under direction of the Distribution Center Manager, all duties inherent in the position of MSC Supervisor as defined by the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.
  • Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC?s mission.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent related experience required.
  • Customer service experience is a warehouse environment required.
  • At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience is required.


SKILLS:

  • AS400 Proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency
  • High levels of integrity displayed on a daily basis.
  • Ability to bring about change in both methods and culture.
  • General knowledge of distribution functions including operations, inventory control, systems and human resources.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time required.
  • Ability to operate a fork lift
  • Ability to operate an air compressor
