We are seeking dependable Overnight Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers who understand the importance of reliability, professionalism, and consistency. This is a part-time, as-needed position designed to provide supplemental income.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care during dog walks and overnight stays
• Follow detailed written and verbal care instructions exactly as provided
• Maintain accurate visit notes and communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Respond calmly and appropriately to unexpected situations
• Ensure pets’ safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times
• Represent Furbabies RVA professionally in clients’ homes and neighborhoods

Scheduling Expectations

• Midday dog walking hours typically occur between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Team members commit to consistent availability on their selected days, though the number of scheduled visits may vary depending on client needs.
• Availability to work some holidays is required
• Overnight sitters must be comfortable staying overnight in clients’ homes

This role requires reliability and commitment on scheduled days. It is not an on-call or day-to-day flexible position.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous experience working with animals preferred
• Pet First Aid & CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to successfully complete a background check
• Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance required
• Smartphone with unlimited data and a high-quality camera
• Ability to walk for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
• Ability to climb stairs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dog walkers must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM
• Candidates with at least 6 midday hours plus morning and/or evening availability may be considered
