Duties

• Walk dogs of all sizes and temperaments, ensuring they receive proper exercise and mental stimulation
• Provide pet sitting services including feeding, administering medication, and maintaining routines
• Handle animals with care using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and handlers
• Perform pet grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, and basic hygiene maintenance when needed
• Assist with training activities, including basic dog training commands to promote good behavior
• Monitor pets’ health and behavior, alerting owners or veterinary professionals if concerns arise
• Maintain detailed records of pet care activities and communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs

Skills

• Proven experience in dog handling and pet sitting with a strong understanding of animal behavior
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is highly desirable
• Skilled in animal restraint techniques and pet grooming practices
• Ability to handle animals safely during walks or while providing care, including heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting larger dogs or supplies)
• Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their concerns professionally
• Familiarity with animal handling across different species such as dogs, cats, or equines is a plus
• Strong communication skills to report on pet health and behavior accurately
