Wiggle Walkers LLC is a Providence based Dog Walking & Pet Services business. We are hiring a few more independent contractors to help with our growing business.
We have an exceptionally high need for people who live near and can easily work in the following neighborhoods:
- East Side of Providence (Mt. Hope, Blackstone, Wayland, College Hill, Fox Point)
- Oakhill in Pawtucket (right over the Providence border)
- Downtown Providence (parking is difficult in downtown area so folks who live nearby and are comfortable on a bike or a scooter are highly encouraged to apply)
- West End of Providence (including Federal Hill, the Armory/ Dexter Park area, everything between Atwells Ave and Westminster Street)
Who's the best fit for Wiggle Walkers LLC:
- Folks who are freelancers or have autonomy over their schedule; people who do shift work in the food service industry or any industry that leaves them available (and awake!) during our busy times;
- Graduate students who are looking to get some paid time outside with pups;
- Anyone looking for fulfilling part-time work;
- Folks who are consistent and reliable; our clients are depending on us to show up on-time and give their pups the attention and exercise needed to get through the day. Being proactive about communicating is essential;
- Anyone in need of a calm and safe work environment-- even if it's just while they figure out what they're going to do next. We understand that dog walking and pet sitting might be a pit-stop for some folks-- we're cool with that! We simply ask that you give all of our client pups the attention, affection, and care that you'd want for your own pets;
- We use a fancy scheduling software that gives our walkers digital access to everything they need to complete each of their scheduled services. This software also GPS tracks our walks and includes an interface for us to send photos and other updates to our clients about their pups. We need our staff to correctly use this software;
- We need folks who can handle walking larger/stronger pups. We have lots of big dogs on our client list-- we also have some quirky pups who get over-excited when they see someone zoom by on a scooter or bike. Our staff are able to maintain a controlled walk regardless of a client pup's size, strength, or triggers.
- Someone who can problem solve and complete their work without being micro-managed.
- We highly value staff who help each-other out with same-day coverage as needed; there is never any obligation to say yes to coverage-requests, that said, your peers will be more inclined to help you in a pinch if you do the same for them. (*To reiterate, requests for coverage are just that -- requests-- it's always your choice to accept or decline). We highly reccomend fostering healthy relationships with fellow staff;
We have members of our team who work only 1 to 3 hours a work day while others manage 4-6 hours of work per day-- there are several ways we've seen our team members excel in this work. During the week the most on-demand time for walking pups is between 11am and 3pm.
If you're interested in walking dogs and caring for people’s pets please EMAIL us at "admin@wigglewalkers.com" with the following information:
- Introduce yourself, let us know what you're up to now (personally and/or professionally). Explain how working for Wiggle Walkers LLC will fit in with your current obligations. **Right now we are especially interested in folks able to work weekdays and be potential back-ups for our full time staff when they take occasional days off.
- Your experience with dogs and pets: maybe you have pets of your own, or maybe you’ve done some dog walking or pet sitting for friends/family/Wag/Rover... We're happy to hear about it all. And don’t feel like you have to bend the truth, the owner started this business with her only experience being taking care of her own dogs-- nothing professional. We will help you get acclimated.
- What area you live in, what your availability will be, and how you plan to get from walk to walk.
- Women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC folks are strongly encouraged to apply. We want our staff to be an accurate representation of our diverse little city;
- Any questions you have, please don't be shy!
