Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Job Summary
We are an established and growing dog walking/pet sitting and in home pet nail trimming business. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. It will start out part time with the ability to grow into full time fairly quickly. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care for dogs of various breeds and temperaments. This role involves walking dogs in various environments, ensuring their safety, and providing companionship during their outings. The Dog Walker will also be responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with pet owners through effective communication and customer service. We mostly focus on consistent dog walking to ensure consistency with your schedule and pay with opportunities to take on pet sitting jobs to earn extra money.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization.
• Monitor the behavior and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the pet owner.
• Provide basic training commands as needed to ensure good behavior on walks.
• Maintain cleanliness by picking up after dogs during walks.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's needs and behaviors.
• Assist with additional pet care tasks as needed, including feeding, grooming, or administering medication.
• Ensure the safety of all animals in your care by adhering to proper animal handling techniques.

Experience

• Previous experience in dog handling or training is a plus.
• Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and pet grooming is beneficial.
• Experience in customer service to effectively interact with pet owners.
• Background in kennel work or equine experience is an advantage.
