Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Drive route-specific trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or freight carriers to various destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning of brakes, lights, tires, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, cargo details, and delivery documentation.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies while navigating urban or rural routes with manual transmission vehicles.
- Assist with site setup or cleanup tasks related to material delivery or removal as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty commercial vehicles in a professional setting.
- Familiarity with different truck types including flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of route driving practices and load & unload procedures for freight transportation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., manual transmission).
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus for handling heavy loads safely on-site.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight movement across multiple locations preferred.
