Job Title : Duty Medical Officer (DMO)
Reports To : Medical Director / Chairman
Job Summary :
The Duty Medical Officer is responsible for providing continuous medical care to patients, managing emergencies, assisting consultants, and ensuring smooth day-to-day clinical operations during assigned duty hours.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide immediate medical care to inpatients and outpatients.
- Handle medical and surgical emergencies efficiently.
- Perform initial patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, and surgeries.
- Prescribe medications and ensure proper implementation of treatment plans.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, lab, radiology, and other departments.
- Ensure handover of patients during shift changes.
- Follow hospital protocols, NABH/JCI guidelines, and medico-legal norms.
- Participate in code blue / emergency response teams.
- Counsel patients and attendants when required.
- Ensure infection control and patient safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical college
- Valid TN Medical Council registration
Experience
- Fresher or 0–2 years experience (as per hospital requirement)
- Prior experience in emergency or hospital duty preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts
- Team-oriented and patient-focused
- Basic computer and EMR knowledge
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts / Night duties / On-call duties as per hospital policy
Salary & Benefits
- As per hospital norms and experience

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
