Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant (Part-Time Contract)

At Giant Group we are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to support system optimization and user adoption across our finance and operations teams. This is a flexible, consultancy-style engagement (20 hours per week) focused on embedding best practice processes and ensuring Business Central is fully aligned with our growth strategy.

Salary: Market Competitive

Hours: Flexible Consultancy Engagement – 20 Hours per Week

About the role

As the Business Central Lead Expert and Trainer, you will have an impact on ensuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is effectively adopted and embedded across Giant to support process efficiency and business growth. Therefore, you will be the key expert and system owner, delivering hands-on training, driving best practices, and supporting teams in using the system effectively. The desired outcome of this will be a fully adopted and optimized system that aligns with Giant’s vision for operational excellence and scalable success.


Key responsibilities of the role include:


  • Acting as the internal expert and owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring it is configured, maintained, and aligned to business needs.
  • Designing and delivering tailored training programs and materials to support user adoption across finance and operations teams.
  • Collaborating with departments to align business processes with BC functionality, ensuring compliance and optimization.
  • Supporting governance by embedding controls, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement by monitoring system use, identifying enhancements, and liaising with the implementation partner for updates.


Your ideal experience & competencies


Ideally you would have a Strong understanding of finance processes or equivalent experience, along with proven expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, particularly across end-to-end finance modules.


You can only excel in this role if you bring a strong understanding of financial processes, the ability to translate technical system functions for non-technical users, and a collaborative mindset to work across teams and with external partners.


  • Experience in finance system implementation, UAT, and post-go-live support
  • Strong training and facilitation skills, with a focus on user adoption
  • Excellent communication and documentation capabilities
  • Awareness of compliance requirements (e.g., HMRC VAT, SAO)
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and system optimization.
