E-commerce Director

E-commerce Director | AT Cartz

Location: Al Wakrah, Qatar

Position Type: Full-Time / Executive Leadership

Industry: E-commerce, Retail Tech & Digital Marketplace

Position Overview

AT Cartz is seeking a high-octane E-commerce Director to lead our digital storefront and regional marketplace strategy from our Al Wakrah operations hub. As we scale our footprint across Qatar and the wider GCC, we need a visionary leader who can bridge the gap between world-class user experience (UX) and high-efficiency backend logistics.

In this role, you will be the primary architect of our digital revenue growth, responsible for optimizing the end-to-end customer journey—from initial click to last-mile delivery. The ideal candidate is a data-driven strategist who thrives in the "attention economy" and possesses the operational rigor to manage complex technical stacks and international vendor networks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmap: Design and execute a 3-year e-commerce growth strategy, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value (LTV) within the Qatar market.
  • Platform Optimization: Lead the continuous improvement of the AT Cartz web and mobile interfaces, ensuring a seamless, high-conversion "cart-to-checkout" experience.
  • Digital Marketing Oversight: Direct the performance marketing team in executing high-ROI campaigns across SEM, social commerce, and affiliate networks.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Partner with the warehouse and fulfillment teams in Al Wakrah to optimize inventory turnover and ensure 99% on-time delivery rates.
  • Data-Driven Leadership: Utilize advanced Excel automation (XLOOKUP, Macros) and BI tools to monitor real-time conversion rates, cart abandonment metrics, and regional sales trends.
  • Systems Integration: Oversee the synchronization of the e-commerce platform with enterprise tools like Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for unified inventory and financial reporting.
  • Customer Integrity: Establish and enforce rigorous standards for customer service and dispute resolution, fostering a culture of authenticity and brand loyalty.
  • Budgetary Management: Total oversight of the e-commerce P&L, ensuring a lean, high-margin operation during periods of rapid scaling.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 12+ years in digital commerce or retail, with at least 6 years in a directorial or senior management capacity within the Middle East.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level understanding of e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify Plus, or custom headless stacks). Deep experience with BPO-style process optimization is a plus.
  • Language: Professional fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic, Tagalog, or Hindi is highly valued for managing a diverse regional workforce.
  • Analytical Skills: A "quant-first" mindset with the ability to translate complex Google Analytics or heat-mapping data into actionable UI/UX improvements.
  • Mindset: A "work-hard, play-hard" philosophy—someone who views professional excellence as the primary engine for global travel and personal exploration.

What We Offer

  • Strategic Hub: A key leadership role in Al Wakrah, one of Qatar’s fastest-growing commercial and residential districts.
  • Innovation: The opportunity to shape the digital shopping habits of a tech-savvy, high-net-worth demographic.
  • Compensation: Highly competitive tax-free salary, performance-based "Growth Bonuses," housing allowance, and annual travel passage.
  • Culture: A collaborative, results-oriented environment that respects professional integrity and promotes a healthy work-life balance.
