(E3) Human Resources Intern

Description

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the intern will support the HR team by conducting research on the use of emerging technologies, data analytics, and internal communications platforms in both public and private sector Human Resources operations. This role emphasizes research, data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify best practices, operational challenges, and opportunities for modernization. The intern will contribute to actionable insights that inform HR strategy, digital transformation initiatives, and policy recommendations.

Principal Duties

  • Conduct comparative research on the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital collaboration tools in HR across public and private sectors.
  • Identify and catalog HR metrics, performance dashboards, communication platforms, and other tools used for workforce management.
  • Assess operational impediments in HR departments, including challenges with technology adoption, data quality, skill gaps, and process integration.
  • Synthesize findings into a comprehensive research report highlighting sector-specific practices, comparisons, and key observations.
  • Develop recommendations and a roadmap for public sector HR modernization, including responsible AI adoption, data-driven decision-making, and effective internal communications.
  • Prepare a concise presentation of research findings suitable for HR leadership, policymakers, or academic audiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, with strong verbal & written communication abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the HR department's goals

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Development or related field
  • Experience working or interning in a Human Resources capacity
  • Experience with HR software or databases

Hours: 30-40 hours/week; May 18, 2026 – July 31, 2026
