Linen Society | Portland, OR

If you’re an experienced Shopify eCommerce professional who values trust, collaboration, and working with genuinely good people, this might be the role you’ve been looking for.

At Linen Society, we’re a small, growing luxury home goods company based in Portland. We operate on Shopify with Shopify Collective, and we’re thoughtfully expanding our eCommerce business — adding new brands, growing a large product catalog, cleaning up legacy data, and improving UX, SEO, and conversion across the website.

We’re looking for an experienced, on-site eCommerce Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our Shopify website, online customer experience, and a small support team. This is a long-term role for someone who enjoys hands-on eCommerce work, collaborating on strategy, and building systems that steadily improve over time.

Just as important as experience: we’re looking for an all-around good person — someone collaborative, respectful, accountable, and invested in the people they work with. That line has attracted many of our best hires, and it matters here.

This role is ideal for someone with solid Shopify experience who wants meaningful responsibility, hands-on execution, and room to grow alongside a small, thoughtful company.

What it’s like to work here
You’re trusted to make recommendations and lead execution
You work closely with smart, kind people who care about eCommerce, UX, and doing good work
You have visible impact and real responsibility without carrying everything alone
There are priorities, and there are moments that require pivots — we approach both thoughtfully
We believe work should be productive, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable

What you’ll be responsible for

eCommerce management, UX, and conversion
Leading the day-to-day management of our Shopify website, with support and collaboration from leadership and partner teams
Thinking holistically about UX, conversion optimization, and customer flow
Identifying friction points and improving the customer experience through layout, structure, content, and logic
Implementing and refining upsell and cross-sell recommendations across the eCommerce site
Using analytics, customer behavior, and conversion data to guide improvements

Catalog growth and data cleanup
Managing and expanding a large, multi-brand product catalog, including new brand additions. Approximately 150,000 SKU's and equivalent number yet to upload
Leading bulk product uploads, collections, tagging, SEO-ready content, and product organization
Auditing and cleaning up legacy product data to improve consistency, accuracy, and scalability
Helping establish clean standards for product data and catalog structure going forward

SEO, organic optimization, and accessibility
Owning and supporting on-site SEO and organic search optimization
Optimizing product pages and collection pages for search visibility and conversion
Ensuring metadata, URLs, internal linking, and site structure follow SEO best practices
Ensuring the website follows accessibility best practices, including ongoing attention to ADA compliance as part of site updates and optimizations

Technical confidence (Liquid and front-end coding)
Comfortable working in Liquid and front-end code to make edits, improvements, and implementations within an established Shopify theme
Applying HTML, CSS, and light scripting to support UX, performance, and site functionality
Managing Shopify apps and integrations thoughtfully, with attention to performance, stability, and cost
Knowing when issues can be handled internally and when to collaborate with outside developers

Team coordination and delegation
Coordinating and delegating work to a small eCommerce support team, with guidance and support from leadership
Helping create workflows that allow catalog, SEO, and site updates to move efficiently
Supporting team members through clarity, communication, and shared priorities
Coordinating outside or overseas support when needed

Customer experience, shipping, and logistics
Supporting the end-to-end online customer experience
Partnering with operations and customer service around shipping, lead times, and special orders
Stepping in on escalations when needed with a calm, solutions-focused approach

Email strategy and collaboration
Collaborating closely with our email marketing team
Providing strategic input, flow oversight, and implementation support for automated and lifecycle email programs
Ensuring Klaviyo flows align with site behavior, UX, conversion goals, and merchandising priorities

Process, SOPs, and communication
Refining and documenting SOPs related to eCommerce, catalog management, SEO, accessibility, and workflows
Communicating priorities, progress, and pivots clearly
Helping the business move forward with less friction and more clarity

Modern tools
Using AI thoughtfully to improve efficiency, organization, and decision-making
We provide access to Claude and are open to well-reasoned tool recommendations that add real value

What we’re looking for
4+ years of experience working on a Shopify eCommerce site
Experience managing large, complex product catalogs and bulk uploads
Hands-on experience with SEO, organic search optimization, and UX
Experience collaborating on email strategy and automated flows (Klaviyo familiarity preferred)
Comfort working in Liquid and front-end code (HTML/CSS) within an existing Shopify theme
Experience coordinating and delegating work to a small team or support group
Familiarity with upsell and cross-sell implementations on eCommerce websites
A resourceful, budget-minded approach — you enjoy finding smart, efficient solutions
Interest in long-term growth, stability, and being part of a close-knit team
An all-around good person — kind, respectful, and accountable
