Launched in 2023, the dedicated digital business platform is operated by IMI in partnership with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC). Leveraging the digital knowledge within the IMI group and combining this with the brand recognition and newsgathering capabilities of CNN, CNN Business Arabic aims to become the most comprehensive, coherent, trusted, timely, and creative global source of Arabic-language business and economic news.
Delivering breaking business news, insightful podcasts, and exclusive interviews with business leaders and influencers, the digital-first platform aims to inspire and empower current and future Arab business leaders and entrepreneurs in their daily quest for financial success, through engaging, visual, data-driven content.
Role Summary
The Editor will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and refining Arabic text and multimedia content to deliver top-quality business news that keeps our broad Arabic-speaking audience, including regional business leaders and public affairs decision-makers, well-informed and ahead of the curve.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure that all text, social media, and multimedia content adheres to the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and impartiality, in line with the CNN brand and free from unlawful discrimination.

Review and fact-check content prepared by desk journalists, reporters, correspondents, writers, and multimedia producers, ensuring correctness in facts, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Edit content to enhance clarity, coherence, and fluidity, maintaining a consistent and professional tone.

Provide guidance and support to journalists, reporters, and writers in writing and translating content from English into Arabic.

Anchor, translate, and assist in publishing content from reporters and correspondents covering conferences and events.

Support journalists and reporters during live broadcasts of conferences and news briefings.

Uphold the ethical and editorial standards of the CNN brand, ensuring content reflects accuracy, fairness, and cultural sensitivity.

Respect and adhere to the social, cultural, and moral standards of the UAE, as well as align with the political and strategic direction of the nation. Provide guidance to staff to prevent any actions that could damage the brand's reputation or the integrity of IMI and its affiliates.

Handle complex duties involving the analysis of major issues or original research, devising work methods according to general directives and advanced professional standards, with completed assignments subject to supervisory review.

Be mindful that actions, recommendations, or decisions in this role carry significant weight, potentially impacting customer relationships or the brand's reputation, and act proactively to minimize any adverse effects.
Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, journalism, communication, social sciences, or a related field.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in highly respected media organizations.

At least 3 years of experience in roles such as copy editor, breaking news editor, senior business reporter, or similar positions.

Exceptional editorial skills in both Arabic and English.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

In-depth knowledge of energy, commodities, and financial industries, including their Arabic terminology.

Strong understanding of regional economics and the ability to engage audiences on social media platforms.

Basic knowledge of multimedia and infographic production processes.

Ability to perform under pressure, with flexibility to work early or stay late as required.

Capability to multi-task and collaborate with a large, geographically dispersed team.
